This simple lasagna recipe is a cheesy, saucy, and hearty classic the whole family will love. Perfect for make-ahead meals, potlucks, or cozy weekends at home.
Ingredients
▢ 9 lasagna noodles
▢ 1 pound ground beef
▢ 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
▢ 1 cup ricotta cheese
▢ 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
▢ 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
▢ 1 egg
▢ 1 tsp garlic powder
▢ Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
3. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
4. Stir in the marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
5. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and half of the Parmesan cheese.
6. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
7. Layer 3 noodles, ricotta mixture, meat sauce, and mozzarella cheese. Repeat twice.
8. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
9. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
10. Remove foil and bake an additional 10-15 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
11. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
• Make it ahead and refrigerate overnight before baking.
• Use no-boil noodles to skip the pasta prep step.
• Add spinach or zucchini to the ricotta mixture for extra veggies.
